- The position is responsible for administering quality control programs required by the business as defined by the global Quality Management Program (QMP). The position leads the site internal audits, corrective actions and is responsible for the maintenance of the required quality documentation, including all elements required by the ISO 9001/FSSC22000 standard in addition to all elements of the Mars QMP. The position provides an ongoing organizational capability to audit and report all quality information and measurement data, especially input from customers and consumers. The job involves ISO 9001/FSSC22000 administration; training, auditing, problem solving and assuring corrective actions are properly implemented. The position promotes product safety and general product quality awareness acting as a liaison between manufacturing sites.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Lead multiple Quality Management Process Elements (Internal Audit, FS-HACCP, CAPA, Management Review, etc)
- Key User/Functional Expert for Q&FS Management Systems (NEXUS, Statistical Process Control Data Tools, SAP) including leading the roll out of new modules/system upgrades
- HOLD management and reporting
- Lead community of practice. Drive improvements to process or systems across the site.
- Lead quality or process improvement projects for product quality and food safety.
- Participate in Risk Assessments for PRIMPs including investigations of consumer complaints
- In conjunction with the Site Q&FS Manager, manage regulatory, Kosher inspections, QAI & corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver Quality and Food Safety training when required (Food Defense, GMPs, QMP, HACCP)
- Provides documentation for quality and logistics for special product exports and ingredients.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Food Science, Dairy, Meat Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Pathology or Genetics, and up to 2-year internship, co-op working in Food Manufacturing Industry
- Or equivalent experience in Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Chemical Engineering or Product/Process Development
- Or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Dairy Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Agronomy or Genetics
- Working knowledge of food processing and packaging technology is highly preferred
- Green Belt Certification preferred
- 2+ years in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, or Product/Process Development
