Job Description

The Quality Assurance & Testing Analyst is responsible for partnering with development, process, business and product owners to drive testing efforts across ESC’s data analytics solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with testing and infrastructure partners to ensure data and environment requirements are met and necessary integrations are available to support end to end business process testing.

You will work with Business, technology, and solution teams to develop and execute automated capabilities for regression testing that includes business end to end, compliance and configuration testing. This individual must possess strong technical knowledge on reporting applications (e.g. OAS, OBIEE, Web based reporting applications)

In this role you will be the key partner between the business SMEs and our technical scrum teams.  You will use your skills to “accept” technology releases into the business. You will understand the business processes and use your testing experience/understanding of the technology to ensure that business acceptance criteria is fulfilled.

A key part of the role will be to plan, develop and execute test scripts.  As well as performing ad hoc exploratory testing to aid the delivery of our data solutions and reporting services.  At all times looking for the highest quality, from a user acceptance perspective, and using Agile methodologies.

You will perform testing across the internal operating tools and work closely with the Technology and Product teams to ensure reliable and consistent product functionality.

You will also be responsible to identify improvement opportunities utilizing automation and will apply efficient practices to improve maintainability and supportability of capabilities. Responsibility will include the research, review and leverage test automation frameworks, troubleshooting issues in scripts executions, identify automation candidates to drive efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and execute test scripts, test conditions, input test data, and expected results for Acceptance Testing / User Acceptance Testing 
  • Ensure the business scenarios are executed on the system to support high quality and compliant solution
  • Analyzing and communicating test results, including providing recommendations for Go/ No Go release decisions
  • Perform defect tracking 
  • Participate in analysis of business processes to drive test workflows
  • Assist in preparation of compliance test cases reviewing privacy, data governance and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting application testing in various environments including: dev, CT, production and Penetration testing
  • Review test processes and suggest efficient ways to improve, including driving automation where possible for all testing in collaboration with development, business and product owners
  • Participate proactively in daily standup meetings, story grooming sessions, team retrospectives and suggest process improvements
  • Coordinate necessary access on tools and platforms to enable business client/user testing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science or Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ quality assurance/business testing and automation experience
  • Knowledge of the Pharmacy or Group Health Insurance (pharmacy, dental, other health) industry or adjudication systems is an asset
  • Quality Assurance Certification is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of advanced SQL and relational database concepts; Writing SQL queries
  • Experience with Agile methodology and software development tools such as Jira, Confluence or other Agile reporting tools
  • Experience working with large amounts of data
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC processes in relation to the Product Development Lifecycle (PDL)
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users and team members.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to work on multiple initiatives and prioritize work accordingly
  • Strong analytical mindset
