As a QA Lead, your responsibilities will include:

• Manages the planning and implementation of FSMS programs and procedures at site to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, company expectations, and to achieve business goals. 
• Role as food safety team leader providing leadership, consultation and direction to operations and the PLT on food safety issues. 
• Maintains current knowledge on GMP, GFSI, sanitation and food defense best practices within FSSC 22000
• Works with operations to rectify deficiencies identified in food safety systems.
• Lead auditor for food safety and quality systems and conduct audits to ensure compliance with company, customer and regulatory expectations. 
• Supports conformity to standards and certifications such as ISO 17025, Non-GMO, Kosher and Halal
• Continuously improves the food safety and quality systems utilizing tools such as Lean Six Sigma, SPC, etc.
• Provides leadership and support to the site audit teams and process and maintenance leads.
• Supports development of food safety skills and decision-making abilities to achieve business goals.

Qualified candidates will have:

• B.Sc or M.Sc in science or technical field
• 5-7 years of experience working in the area of quality and food safety within a food manufacturing environment, preferably in Corn Wet Milling.
• Significant experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, GMPs, and quality control systems.
• Trained as a lead auditor for FSSC 22000 or other GFSI scheme
• Certification as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
• Certification in food defense an asset
• Experience as an ISO 17025 auditor an asset
