Team & Function Overview

Compliance Technology is building a sophisticated next generation surveillance solution on top of a distributed dataplatform. Pune (India) and Belfast (United Kingdom) are the global hubs for the creation of feature-based surveillance algorithms using cutting edge technologies and techniques.

The global Trade Surveillance Technology team at Citi has an increased book of work that requires additional business lines, countries, and more sophisticated surveillance methods to be delivered using our strategic platforms. These platforms allow users to monitor trading activity across multiple asset classes and information barriers, on real time, end of day, and historic lookup bases for indications of potential Market Abuse, Insider Dealing, and other types of fraud. The volume and variety of data involved in these surveillances and the complexity of the algorithms results in one of most challenging and appropriate use cases for big data technologies.

As we further expand global coverage and deliver more sophisticated Behavioral Analytics based solutions, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to join one of our QA Teams - Markets Case Manager (MCM) QA Team in Pune. Markets Case manager is an integral part of Trade Surveillance providing UI capabilities to the surveillance solutions consisting a suite of multiple applications.

The successful candidate will be an established testing expert, with a strong background working in technology teams to test, deliver and roll out new products. You will be a strong advocate for quality, responsible for defining the overarching test architecture, strategy, and choices, and pro-actively influencing senior stakeholders to ensure product quality and stability. You will work closely with the Global QA Manager & QA Leads for other Teams under Trade Surveillance to contribute in identifying and recommending process improvements to enhance quality deliverables. This role will require extensive testing and leadership skills, to lead a team of 8+ testers across Belfast and Pune. This includes hiring, planning, estimating and completing test cycles, managing risks and issues, status reporting, engaging successfully with Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to thoroughly understand products and ensure delivery on time and within budget. It will therefore be essential to have a proven track record of successfully testing projects using various software development lifecycles.

Tasks will include reviewing business and functional requirements; producing, planning and executing high quality test plans; building and leveraging surveillance systems and capital markets knowledge to enable a thorough and robust approach to testing; liaising with developers, and other technology teams throughout project lifecycles; analyzing system flows; understanding all aspects of data acquisition, analysis, and mapping work (including trade, market and reference data), as well as GUI functionality; facilitating UAT; working with a global and diverse range of people and systems across multiple business and technology units.

Knowledge/Experience: -

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in inapplication testing on large & complex projects
  • Advanced hands on and leadership experience delivering full software test lifecycles (strategy, planning, execution, reporting, etc.) within one or more SDLC variations, for example Scrum Agile and Waterfall
  • Strong track record in end to end testing, with hands-on testing experience on UI/UX, Automation and Big Data.
  • Be able to define, monitor automation coverage, and enhance the existing automation framework to increase the automation coverage and provide thought leadership on designing platforms for build-in automation on CI/CD.
  • Expertise on Database querying and SQL skills
  • Proven experience in driving adoption of new processes/technologies across multiple teams
  • Ability to manage and influence senior stakeholder groups within a fast paced environment, anticipating future requirements across multiple parallel projects/streams.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, with an established track record in coaching others at all technical levels, and the ability to bring multiple technical teams together, both onsite and remotely, to work towards common goals and on time product delivery
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to express ideas to people from various business and technology backgrounds
  • Outstanding attention to detail, and determination to deliver robust and complete solutions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify and analyze relevant information relating to projects
  • Meticulous planning and an organized approach to work
  • Positive and optimistic outlook
  • Drive and promote quality culture within and outside QA
  • Contribute towards hiring, team building and able to attract & retain right talent to build resilient team.

In addition, the following will be a distinct advantage:

  • Understanding of Capital Markets, for example trading, the trade lifecycle, exchanges, market participants, etc.. across multiple asset classes
  • Good understanding of Capital Markets related data (e.g. Trade Orders and Executions, Reference Data, Market Data, etc.)
  • Experience testing systems that process large volumes of complex data and apply complex mathematical functions
  • Experience testing systems that are based on Data Mining, Big Data, Behavioral Analytics, and Machine Learning techniques
