Excited about robotics, and how it will be used in our everyday lives? The Amazon Consumer Robotics group is pushing the boundaries of what's possible, making the future closer than ever.

Astro is Amazons first household robot to use AI and Intelligent Motion to gracefully and intuitively interact with people and spaces. It is a different kind of robot, one that's designed to help customers with a range of tasks like home monitoring and keeping in touch with family. It brings together new advancements in artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensor technology, voice and edge computing in a package that's designed to be helpful and convenient.

Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs are not pure black box testers, they are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. QAEs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level Unit tests, test execution and reporting.

Desired Candidate Profile

Basic qualifications

• 4+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
• Experience in manual testing, Experience in automation testing, functional and non-functional testing.
• Proficiency in Coding/Scripting in any programming languages, preferably Python.
• Bachelor's Degree

Preferred qualifications

• Customer scenario testing experience
• Reporting skills, proficient in creating status reports based on automation results
• Demonstrated expertise in testing methodologies, experience with standard QA and development tools, and the ability to operate within short release cycles
• Product experience with wireless consumer electronics
• Highly methodical test discipline, applicable to all product UI
• Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness
• Experience with API automation testing including unit test automation frameworks
• Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing
• Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment and utilizing virtual machines
• Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses Experience with open source tools and resources
• Familiar with hardware fundamentals/Embedded testing or L2/L3 protocol testing
