The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for testing the designated products.
Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
· Prepare and test in-process and final product samples
· Prepare and ship micro testing samples
· Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks for both the laboratory and environment and testing equipment.
· Assist in maintaining reserve sample inventories
· Data entry of sample and results
· Perform special projects, as assigned
· Assist others when needed
· Perform other duties as required
Qualified candidates will have:
Work Environment:
· Ability to work in potentially noisy and smelly environments, different physical environments, or in various weather conditions
· Must be able to move about in the processing areas and be able to do the following: lift and carry, stand and walk for sustained periods; climb stairs; bend; reach; push; pull
Position type and expected hours of work: Full time position, be willing to work any day of the week, an off shift and/or rotating shifts as applicable or assigned. Overtime may be required.
Required education and experience:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Laboratory bench practices preferred
· Ability to observe, monitor, collect, record and analyze data for accuracy, validity and integrity
· Ability to assess the accuracy, validity and integrity of data.
· Understanding of HAACP and prior experience with SQF systems, a plus · Must be able to complete pre-employment assessments as required
· Must be able to pass for education verification, work history, and criminal record
· Must be able to successfully pass a physical and drug screen as applicable by local government
Additional eligibility qualifications:
· Read, write and speak in English and work in a team environment with minimal supervision
· Demonstrate good decision-making ability and communication skills
· Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and lab safety requirements
· Computer literate and SAP experience, a plus
· Ability to obtain forklift certification, as necessary
· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and Food Safety, a plus
