QA Engineer – Supply Chain Technology

The QA Engineer role is within the Supply Chain Technology domain which owns all stock, fulfilment, delivery, returns and warehouse integration services – the services that form the core backend of ASOS systems that powers various frontend and backend features such as availability of each product, reservation, fulfilment, delivery and returns of customer orders. 

The Supply Chain Technology team has ambitious plans to extend the capabilities of the microservices we produce and own and we are looking for fantastic mid-level QA Engineer to come and join us on our journey, to help us in building the best possible experience for our customers, and to help drive our journey towards test automation.

What you will be doing: 

Working with the Engineers and QA Engineers in your team to deliver well-crafted software

Questioning things all the time. Our ways of working, the features the team are implementing, the technologies we’re using.

Learning from some of the best in the business through pairing and knowledge sharing sessions

Crafting and implementing CI/CD practices that will enable them to release with confidence

Supporting teams in adopting new tools and practices

Contributing to ensuring the right test tooling and frameworks and practices (e.g. shift-left) are in place to help the teams to deliver against the business goals

You will be delivering systems using the following technologies:

.NET Framework and .NET Core, C#

Microsoft Azure

NService Bus, Azure Service Bus

MuleSoft

Cosmos DB

SQL Server

VSTS, Git, Maven, Gradle, TeamCity & Octopus Deploy

What you will need: 

Experience as a technical QA Engineer that specialises in manual & automation testing of complex integration projects, and systems – utilising all the tools, methods and teams at their disposal.

Some knowledge or experience with Operational Acceptance & Non-Functional Testing.

A fantastic understanding of, and experience with, a breadth of testing types and techniques and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Be able to define, plan, and drive out all relevant testing phases – Unit, Component, System, Integration, and manage UAT with various 3rd party elements – both internal and external.

Be able to define, and implement an automation framework from scratch, and be able to act as a SME for the rest of the team.

Be a great team player, strong verbal and written communicator, but also able to work stand-alone seeing a project from definition through to go live.

Follow the principals of the software testing life cycle, test pyramid and are responsible for driving test strategy for your assigned projects.

Previous Retail/ Logistic/ WMS experience or knowledge – preferably in a QA role.

Experience of TDD, BDD, and ATDD.

Experience of Cucumber, Selenium, HP Performance Centre, Loadrunner, JMeter or similar toolsets to support automation, and non-functional testing.

Working experience in one of the following: C# or Java, NUnit, Junit, jbehave, JSON and XML and Test Automation.
