Job Summary:

As part of the Global PR team, the Public Relations Professional Intern will support global PR campaigns and special projects for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP). In this role, you will work closely with partners across the organization to deliver compelling content, media and social tactics that break through the noise to showcase the Disney difference.

The DPEP Global Public Relations team manages communications efforts for the Disney Parks segment. It connects across multiple DPEP and TWDC (The Walt Disney Company) businesses/teams, leads franchise (Star Wars, Marvel, Princess) communications and global campaigns, and manages influencer and media relations. The team also acts as service providers to other DPEP PR teams as strategy partners, content creators and social/digital integrators.

Responsibilities:

Being part of the DPEP team means you get the opportunity to work closely with all of the DPEP teams including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Consumer Products, Walt Disney Imagineering by…

  • Supporting strategic PR planning and execution for campaigns, offerings and select franchise portfolios (Star Wars, Marvel, Princess, etc.)
  • Drafting communication plans, blog posts, press releases and social copy
  • Supporting PR activities such as press events, media visits and product launches
  • Identifying creative content opportunities for various digital and social platforms
  • Supporting strategic content/media planning, long term franchise plans and presentations to partners
  • Monitoring landscape for trending content, social and PR strategies that can drive the business in new and innovative ways

Basic Qualifications:

  • Passionate about content, social media and have a deep understanding of digital storytelling
  • Excellent writer who is borderline obsessed with grammar (and AP style)
  • Able to bring a unique personal and professional perspective
  • Avid user of various social platforms, especially TikTok, Instagram and YouTube
  • Strategic mindset and flair for disruptive, outside the box thinking
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter Team player who loves working collaboratively on projects
  • You are creative, share fresh ideas and dream big
  • You are nimble, organized and can manage multiple projects while paying close attention to detail
  • You have an appreciation and passion for the Disney experience and an understanding of the intellectual property that sets us apart, especially key Disney franchises (Star Wars, Marvel, Princess, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Keynote and experience using Zoom

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Disney experience and/or working in the entertainment industry
  • Previous Public Relations Internship experience

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree (or recent graduate) in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field

Additional Information:

  • Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Los Angeles/Glendale, CA area
  • The approximate dates of this internship are May 2022-January 2023
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
  • Able to occasionally work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights or weekends for special events
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
