JOB ROLE

• Take the lead of organizing and implementing a diverse range of public policy programmes in Sri Lanka that help boost e-commerce and contribute to growth the industry. This includes conducting the required research and drafting the necessary documentation for the programmes.
• Build the necessary teams for the implementation each programme and coordinate with other internal team members to ensure the timely delivery of programmes.
• Develop and maintain strong and trusted relationships with various types of external stakeholders including, government officials and agencies, academia, industry agencies and groups, non-governmental organizations and international institutions.
• Develop key knowledge products related to Daraz’s public policy programmes that are visual and can be shared internally and externally.
• Represent Daraz in meetings with government officials or at public events when there is a business need.
• Take the initiative to conceptualize and shape Daraz’s future public policy programmes based on the needs of the industry and the company’s goals. 

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, Law or an equivalent programme.
• Experience working in media, politics, government, NGOs, think-tanks, or public policy related fields.
• Ability to speak and write in English and one local language fluently (Sinhala or Tamil), due to the need to engage with external stakeholders and other organizations.
• A good understanding of internet related technologies and the policy environments that surround them with a passionate belief in the social and economic impact of the Internet and Daraz in particular.
• Knowledge of the tech sector or the key issues impacting the internet (e.g., data privacy, online safety, digital economy, role of social media).
• Comfortable with managing multiple programmes at the same time.
• Ability to take initiative, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and work with a high sense of urgency across a variety of matters
• Effective team player with drive and determination.
