Brunswick i-Jet is seeking a part-time paid Public & Internal Relations Intern to join our Research Park Team in Champaign, Illinois for the Fall of 2021, with potential for extension into the following year. As an intern, you will work in the Research Park office at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. 

As a Public and Internal Relations Intern, you will work collaboratively and independently with highly qualified industrial and graphic design professionals who are responsible for the design of marine engines, boats, controls and user interface systems for the recreational boating industry. You will play an integral role in connecting i-Jet with the UIUC community and rest of Brunswick, while also fostering a vibrant community within the lab. 

AS THE PUBLIC & INTERNAL RELATIONS INTERN, YOU WILL: 

• Manage social media platforms and craft insightful stories and posts that showcase i-Jet's talent, events, and capabilities. 

• Cultivate relationships between i-Jet and research groups, RSOs, and other institutes on the UIUC campus, as well as with professionals, brands, and branches within Brunswick.  

• Collaborate with design team to create impactful recruitment experiences and assets. 

• Ideate, plan, and execute internal and external events or campaigns for career fairs, workshops, networking, or business-related trips, and more. 

QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: 

• Current enrollment in a BS/MS program with a major in PR, Business, Communications, Advertising or similar at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign 

• Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours, per week for the duration of the internship.  

• If on a student visa, must be able to obtain CPT work authorization. 

• Interest in leading workshops, teaching, and research on a variety of topics 

• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively 

• Ability to create and tell compelling stories and presentations. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Preferably some photography experience. Experience in other creative software a plus.
