As an Energy & Facilities Electronic & Instrumentation Technician, you will do various types of work under minimal supervision including: troubleshooting and maintaining electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, fire systems devices, infrastructure installations, KEA requirements and system ownership. These systems contain PLCs, HMIs, Instruments, and Inspection systems. We want you to get involved, take charge of situations, and confront business-related problems.

Responsibilities and Scope of Role:

• Understand how to select proper PPE for electrical tasks
• Read and understand PCP 650
• Understand electrical one lines and when and how to update
• Have a basic understanding of PLC ladder logic and how any changes will affect it
• Understand how to use a multi meter safely   
• Ability and willingness to work any shift depending on business need
• Ability to be on an on-call schedule
• Works from blueprints, sketches and wiring diagrams, using voltmeters, meggars, ampmeters, leakage test recorders and other equipment to maintain the electrical systems and equipment of the facilities on a regular schedule

Qualifications

We are seeking individuals with the following qualities:

• A current Massachusetts Electrical Journeyman’s license
• Demonstrated strong technical, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• A positive attitude, a strong sense of ownership in your work, and a high level of integrity
• Candidate should have NFPA 70E training
• Enrolled or completed in the SBMC LVQ program
