Reporting to the Provider Solutions & Operations Operational Excellence Program Director, this position will be responsible for leading large complex projects and programs across multiple operational units or enterprise programs. This Business Project Manager role will be an integral leadership part of the OE team supporting both the Clinical Performance & Quality organization and the Behavioral Product organization
Core Responsibilities:
- Driving the overall Project Management of the various initiatives including coordinating and facilitating various governance meetings, rolling up status reporting, milestone tracking and planning
- Utilizes established project and program methodology to develop a master project plan to support milestones and goals; where the methodology is not sufficient, create and augment with new processes and establish best practices
- Ensures the timely and quality development and distribution of all deliverables for the project which could include a program charter, status reporting, issues / risk logs, dependency management, resource plan, etc.
- Overall management and coordination of regularly scheduled organizational update meetings to provide status, discuss key issues/risks and upcoming milestones
- Works closely with the program leadership team and sub-teams to organize and manage/resolve issues through escalation forums to address the following:
people, process and technology enablement issues
general project risks and issues
project plan risks and issues in achieving planned milestones
communications across sub-teams and the broader program
- Evaluates project status and resource utilization and recommends and implements changes to improve the team's and project’s effectiveness
- Effectively communicates with project/business participants and interested parties by adapting style and message to diverse audiences
- Develops strong relationships with business leads and sponsors
- Continually improve skills and competencies by proactively participating in various internal and external training opportunities and stretch assignments
- Connect to the broader CCPO OE team to utilize and build best practices, share innovative ideas and improvement opportunities, and grow professionally, while championing the organization's project management methodology, tools, and techniques
- Takes ownership and responsibility in own tasks; Demonstrates dedication and passion towards department duty; Demonstrates confidence to lead mid-size teams with diversified members to success; Delegates project tasks properly based on skill-set and business requirement; States clearly what task's expectation is to project team members; Treats all team members with equal fairness; Ensures that credit for successes is spread throughout project team
Work experience:
- 5 – 10 years of Project Management, Program Delivery or applicable experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA, PMP Certification training also valued
- Detailed knowledge for driving result oriented work
- Proven track record of delivering results of high quality and sustainability
- Demonstrated project management skills and success, including cross-organizational initiatives
- Experience in leading large, complex projects and/or programs
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic and tactical projects and programs
Soft skills:
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
- Ability to foster collaboration, value others perspectives and gain support and buy-in for organizational proposals
- Strong analytic and decision making abilities
- Excellent executive level oral, written presentation and communication skills
- Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed environment is critical
- Proven track record of delivering results of high quality and sustainability
