We are looking for a Dangerous Goods Project Manager to join our team.

This position is located in our EU offices in Luxembourg.

The Dangerous Goods Project Manager will ensure Dangerous Goods meet applicable European regulatory requirements, strategize with internal stakeholders to support business expansion, develop best-in-class standard operational processes, improve them and provide support to stakeholders during the implementation phase. The candidate will maintain and continually seek opportunities to improve existing processes via benchmark and best practices while interacting with a broad group of stakeholders and functions.

The candidate needs to be able to work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, while managing projects and diving deep into operations. It also requires an aptitude to adapt to scope changes, take independent initiative, be able to drive processes across Amazon’s expanding network and linking into global initiatives.

The successful candidate will closely work with Amazon Technology, Transportation, Legal, Retail, Fulfilled by Amazon and our Fulfillment Centers.


Key job responsibilities
* Define standard operational processes applicable to EU Dangerous Goods, implement / support the implementation, maintain and align these operational processes across EU;

* Continuous improvement: identify, analyze, develop, deploy and actively seek cross-functional coordination opportunities to improve processes, safety and customer experience;
* Clear, precise, and regular communication with all stakeholders including ongoing project/program status reports as well as capturing requirements from various stakeholders;
* Monitor project execution and ensure that the project delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality and in line with its target date, ensuring the overall integrity within the program;
* Actively seek cross-regional coordination opportunities that improve processes and customer experience
* Support country operational launches
* Lead the launch of Dangerous Goods selection in new countries and organizations to enable the transport of such products in compliance with transportation regulations
* Expand the existing transportation program to European destinations
* Become a subject matter expert in EU Dangerous Goods.

The Dangerous Goods team ensures the safety of our Customers, associates and carrier partners by delivering innovative solutions to ensure dangerous goods compliance, redefining industry best practices and standards, and safely enabling an ever-changing borderless business model.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


* Completed Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain management, transportation, logistics or equivalent from an accredited university;
* Proven experience in a program management role, preferably in a highly regulated industry such as petrochemical, automotive, pharmaceutical etc. ;
* Good verbal and written communication skills; at ease in dealing with ambiguity and communicating with senior management, demonstrates flexibility to adapt scope and projects, ability to present complex issues in a concise way, ability to write documents;
* Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
* Ability to travel internationally;
* Fluent in English and French, both oral and verbal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Knowledge of data warehouse and SQL is a strong plus
* Knowledge of German, Spanish and/or Italian a strong asset
* In-depth knowledge and practical skills in applying Lean Six Sigma (LSS) philosophy and methodology.
* Previous experience in an e-commerce environment or other fast-paced, technology driven businesses a plus;
* A strong drive for results and the ability to work in ambiguous situations and loosely structured environments.
