Summary

A fantastic opportunity to join National Trust Cymru in caring for some of the most iconic historic houses and castles in Wales. We're looking for someone to lead the delivery of projects at our amazing places. This role will be suitable for an experienced project manager looking to build upon and widen their existing skillset, working closely with senior colleagues at properties and in house experts as well as external contractors.

What you'll be doing

You will be leading the delivery of the Plas Newydd reservicing project, working with both internal and external specialists to ensure successful delivery of upgrades to the security system, as well as fire detection, fire warning and the associated electrical wiring 

to give the required standards of conservation, visitor services and experience. This includes the hot water and heating generation and distribution as required for the determined future uses of the building.

An output of the project will also be the spatial masterplan concept for future investments into the visitor components and uses for areas in the main mansion but also the wider site.

You will provide efficient, effective and flexible leadership to the projects, working within the appropriate Trust procedures you’ll be responsible for making things happen, liaising with internal/external communications, IT/processes, record keeping, project framework governance administration and financial management.

Who we're looking for

Who we are looking for

• Project management qualification (PMQ or equivalent).

• Experience of successfully delivering end to end projects within a multi-disciplined environment, including defining resources, securing project teams, leading procurement. 

• Experience of working within a large organisation’s structured project management framework preferably in the heritage or arts sector.

• Experience of managing complex buildings and / or re-servicing projects especially within sensitive buildings and where there are complex inter-related end use issues to consider.

Cross cutting skills:

• Adaptable, and able to make decisions and drive projects forwards working to budgets and timescales.

• Risk based and pragmatic mindset.

• Ability to influence and negotiate.

• Excellent management and communication skills.

• Knowledge of budgets, finance and co-ordination of projects.

• A positive attitude to Welsh language and culture
