This is a full time, exempt position.


ADM, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world’s premier agricultural origination and processing company, has an opening for a Project Manager in the Process Chemistry and Catalysis Group at our Corporate Research Center located in Decatur, IL.

Position summary
We are looking for a project manager to assist technical project leaders in managing overall project execution, communication and documentation.  Experience with technology or project management and scheduling is essential. 

Under the direction of a manager, project leader, or senior scientist, this role will interact with a broad range of functions, including production, engineering, other Research teams, and ADM suppliers. 

Job responsibilities
-    Assist project leaders with phase gate project management
-    Assist leadership with project portfolio and resource management
-    Coordinate and track phase gate meetings especially resource approvals, project document updates, project timelines and risk registers
-    Coordinate project reports and project closeouts
-    Track project documentation and ensure central repository is up to date 
-    Lead phase gate project management training for project leaders in the Process Chemistry and Catalysis group 
-    Coordinate Process Chemistry, Enzyme Process Chemistry, and Catalysis group initiatives with project management leadership
-    Coordinate with internal and external partners on project timeline to commercialization
-    Coordinate with research business development manager on project metrics and dashboarding
-    Help manage project logistics and meeting schedules both internal and external 
-    Help with background research on partners, technologies, toll manufacturers, etc. 
-    Perform all job functions in accordance with ADM safety guidelines

Skills and proficiencies
-    Bachelor’s or Master’s in STEM field, ideally with chemical or biochemical process technology 
-    1-5 years experience in industry with formal project management is desired
-    Experience with project logistics and scheduling
-    Experience with managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
-    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects/workstreams
-    Experience in development of early stage technology, i.e. DOE, NSF grants is desired
-
