Job Description

As a project manager you will be responsible for leading and managing project’s to ensure they produces the required products within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, benefits and risk to a successful delivery. You need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work across all levels of stakeholders and third parties within a commercial environment.


This is a key role supporting the Project Management function within a project services environment, this role requires a well-rounded individual with proven ability of managing small scale projects.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Day-to-day management of the project from initiation through to closure following our project management methodology
  • Prepare and manage, and gaining approval where required, of baseline management products of; Proposals, PIDs, Plans, Work Packages, Highlight Reports, End Stage Reports, Closure Reports and any other product applicable to the size and complexity of the project 
  • Manage the production of required products by suppliers and functions, taking responsibility for overall progress
  • Liaise with portfolio, programme management or the customer to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects
  • Establish and manage the project procedures of risk management, issue management, change control and communication
  • Liaise with and manage internal and external suppliers to the project
  • Establish and manage the project controls monitoring and reporting and develop and implement the governance for the project
  • Managing the project budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against the budget and advise project board of any deviation

Key Experience:

  • Driving and delivering small projects within a matrix environment
  • Delivering projects in complex and large-scale organisational environments
  • Management of small scale project budgets (up to £500k)
  • Management of multiple external suppliers
  • Management of projects to client contractual commitments

What we’re looking for:

  • Proficient user in Microsoft project
  • Experience with identifying project risk (Schedule, Cost, Quality) and ensuring robust mitigations in place
  • Experience in engaging and collaborating with senior level internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining client stakeholder relationships ensuring they are engaged and informed
  • Able to provide clear direction to project teams to achieve the required outcomes
  • PRINCE 2 foundation or practitioner or industry-standard equivalent qualification
