A bit about the role...
As Costa moves towards it’s ambition of becoming a truly global total coffee company, IT becomes increasingly important in enabling business strategies. The Project Manager role is integral to the success of IT. Working in teams across the IT organisation, the role will report into the Portfolio Lead within the delivery team.
The Project Manager will lead multiple projects, using wither waterfall or Agile methodologies. They will lead a matrix team of Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Testers and Development Partners to deliver business outcomes that enable Costa Business units to achieve their ambitions and strategies. The role holder will be able to successfully manage relationships with key stakeholders, understand their business objectives and deliver the required technology outcomes. The role will work with the Portfolio Lead to ensure project dependencies and impacts across the Portfolio are understood and the Portfolio plans are structured to ensure efficient, cost optimised, prioritised delivery of change.
The role will:
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs in order to meet budget
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Lead ITT supplier evaluations
Ensuring that projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and appropriate action taken
Works with Portfolio Leads to ensure dependencies and issues across portfolios are tracked and managed effectively to ensure IT’s full delivery plans are successful
This role requires the incumbent to hold strong relationship management and analytical skills. They will need to be tenacious and resilient to be able to successfully operate in a very fast paced, high workload environment.

Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project methodology and managing full lifecycle of programmes from definition to final delivery
Financial planning and budget management
Previous knowledge of the retail or hospitality industry.
People Management and Project Management experience
Relationship Management – able to build and maintain effective relationships at senior levels of the organisation
Problem management – able to bring multiple parties and issues together to identify resolutions to problems.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to interact with technically diverse teams to deliver specific outcomes
Ability to operate effectively within a high-pressure environment
A logical, analytical thinker with strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
Excellent time management skills – able to plan and organise a complex, varied workload to meet deadlines
Takes ownership of problems and issues and proactively resolve them.
Track record of leading to multiple IT projects at the same time
Highly experienced in project artefact production
