Engineering Delivery Program Manager (TPMI)
The Engineering Management Office (EMO) plays a critical role in delivering strategic network engineering programs to achieve Cox’s mission to connect our customers to the people and things they care about most. Our Engineering teams are building tomorrow’s network today. The Engineering Delivery Program Manager plays a part in this success by managing programs that deliver network assets and services.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Manage network engineering programs that support key strategic initiatives
Align and collaborate across teams, including engineering business owners, field deployment teams, supply chain, procurement, and finance
Facilitate program initiation activities during annual planning events and throughout the year
Manage program financials and project activity, including planning, forecasting, and execution
Lead, track, and communicate program scope, schedule, and costs, encompassing activities, issues, risks, and changes
Apply problem-solving skills to assist teams in working through challenges and overcoming obstacles and threats to program success
Communicate all aspects of program status tailored to all layers of the organization by preparing and delivering status updates backed by program metrics
Support continuous improvements within programs and across the organization
Conduct data analysis of extensive program data to assess program progress, identify trends, and surface opportunities (financial, logistical, etc.)
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Aptitude for understanding telecommunications/network infrastructures and services
Aptitude for understanding and analyzing project forecast and budget management
Ability to partner effectively in a matrixed environment
Skilled in data analysis and reporting
Qualifications:
Minimum:
1-3 years of experience in program management, budget management, project accounting, and data analysis.
Strong leadership and communications skills are essential
Conceptual understanding of program financial plans, rolling forecasts, and variances
Solid problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Functional skills in awareness and interest in process improvement concepts
Experience with network engineering
Demonstrated potential and ambition to develop skills and knowledge to take on increasingly complex and broad programs
Preferred:
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly preferred (i.e., Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree)
PMP certification preferred, ITIL or Six Sigma a plus
Experience in the telecommunications industry
