Job Description
*The position can be managed from one of our EU / UK locations (preferably Luton, United Kingdom / Hanover, Germany / Rijswijk, Netherlands / Brussel Oostende, Belgium / Stockholm, Sweden)*
As a Project Manager you will be assigned to work on large scale, often international projects. You will be responsible for the planning, management and implementation of complex technology projects on time, to budget and agreed quality. Additionally, you will be expected to display expert stakeholder management skills, working closely with business and technology stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
ABOUT THE JOB
- As a Project Manager you will bring together and lead teams, focusing on the business need to refine the project vision and collaboratively lead the project team to form a delivery plan that delivers value incrementally.
- You will monitor and manage progress against delivery plans, driving actions to completion as needed in order to deliver the business value of the project.
- You will utilise your excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- By providing transparency and managing dependencies, you will align expectations and ensure delivery of committed business benefits.
- You will lead delivery teams comprised of internal employees, contractors and external suppliers in a matrix organisation, providing ongoing servant leadership and guidance. You enjoy coaching others and are a strong facilitator, demanding high delivery standards and team performance.
- You create an environment consistent with TUI’s values, where continuous improvement is core to team dynamics.
- As a Project Manager you are accountable for project scope and proactively managing budget, change control, risks and adherence to TUI’s project delivery framework, architecture and security standards.
- You understand the nature and key elements of each project and its context in the wider programme/portfolio.
- You appreciate the broader technology landscape at TUI, with awareness of the impact of change outside your areas of responsibility.
- You manage project plans and delivery roadmaps, anticipating risks to schedule or budget and continuously optimising critical paths.
- You ensure effective use of available resources, providing appropriate visibility of project status, financial forecasts, risks and issues for relevant governance forums.
- You love to work in an international, multi-cultural team and play an active role in the project management Community of Practice.
- You challenge constructively and have high expectations of yourself and others. You always drive for excellence, ownership and self-organisation at team and personal level.
- You love to learn and acquire new skills and keep up to date with latest developments in your focus areas.
ABOUT YOU
- A degree in a relevant technical, business, psychological or social study with relevant technical know-how or comparable expertise acquired on-the-job
- Ability to think strategically and commercially: see the bigger picture, analyse complex problems and quickly evaluate options to meet business expectations
- Experience working with technology and business change. Able to understand and convey complicated ideas in a way that can be understood by a variety of stakeholders.
- Breadth of knowledge and experience using both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies to manage concurrent projects within a portfolio, prioritising effectively and leading by example with clear, collaborative communication to meet business expectations.
- Talent to lead people and build consensus around change, influencing multiple stakeholders across organisational and cultural boundaries, managing conflict where necessary. Assured demeanour, able to instil confidence in your peers and other team members.
- Self-starter with track record of building successful project teams in enterprise organisations, typically without direct line management responsibility is beneficial.
- Team player that works well under pressure, comfortable with ambiguity, highly autonomous
- Organised, commercially aware, adept at creating clarity and taking decisions
- Interest for the airline industry or consultancy background is an asset
