Job summary
AWS is seeking a Programme Manager (PM) to join our National Security team in the UK. This is an exciting and challenging role and will give the right person a chance to be part of a company and a team delivering services and solutions in to the Public Sector.
We are looking for a PM to support the delivery of some of our most innovative solutions into the National Security sector. Successful candidates will have experience in delivering complex projects and programmes, preferably in a Public Sector context.
Key job responsibilities
· Successfully initiate, plan, execute, monitor/control and deliver programmes and workstreams;
· Align with programme owners, sponsors and subject matter experts to determine programme and work stream objectives;
· Set clear, actionable requirements that deliver the end results of a programme/workstream;
· Communicate periodic status updates to manager stakeholder body including business, compliance and technical leaders;
· Synthesize requirements across functions and demonstrate a solid working knowledge of requirements to project stakeholders and sponsors;
· Develop and implement programme management tools and standards to support programme management core competencies within the team and within stakeholder teams.
· Build project plans and dependencies through scope planning, schedule development, resource planning and cost budgeting;
· Prioritise effectively and at pace against competing deliverables / emerging issues;
· Identify areas of risk to the project scope or timeline and escalate to leadership quickly.
· Extensive experience in Programme/Product Management in IT.
· Strong indexing in the following Amazon leadership principles: customer obsession, ownership, bias for action and thinking big.
· Demonstrable track record of delivering results · Must be able to use data to inform decisions
· Presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences.
· Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations in a matrix team environment
· National Security Clearance (SC/DV)
· Experience of working in the Public Sector and/or National Security
· Experience with project management tools and project planning software
