Overview
The Program Manager IT Infrastructure Refresh is a high level of accountability that often includes multiple projects that may span across or impact multiple functions. These projects may role up to one or more larger programs and often include multiple IT Delivery team resources where the Program Manager will often be required to manage, mentor, and coordinate with team members and business partners at various levels of leadership and experience or skill level.
The role is part of the IT Delivery team which is accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, programs, and portfolios. The IT Delivery team leads projects, programs, portfolios or leads an Agile ART or several agile teams, through the systems development life cycle from planning through hyper care, working in close partnership with IT and business leaders including executive sponsors. The work also includes leading, collaboration, coaching team members and influencing others outside their direct team to ensure the success of initiatives.
Specialized Skills and Technologies:
Direct exposure or experience leading infrastructure related projects or a portfolio of infrastructure related activities including but not limited to network, telephony, backup power systems, platforms or end-user-computing
Experience managing through Construction, Business, Facilities, Electrical and HVAC teams to deliver technology projects
Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Project Enterprise Server or PWA (or a similar enterprise PPM tool like Clarity or Daptiv), to create detailed project WBSs as well as manage, track, and report on project activities
Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Visio to create floor plans, IT rack diagrams as well as process diagrams
Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel to create financial models, what-if scenarios, and forecasting
Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint to craft and deliver a strategic message for all levels of the organization (Business, technical engineers through C-level)
Mentor project team members to ensure successful delivery of project scope, budget and timeline
Project Management Institute, PMP certification required
ITIL Foundations preferred
Primary Responsibilities
Manage IT delivery teams either directly or indirectly as well as coach and mentor more junior team members
Define and Lead Program budget management
Identify risks and mitigate at a program level including assessment of program strengths and areas for improvement
Meet with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions
Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, delivery quality and team member performance
Organize programs and activities in accordance with the company's mission and goals
Create and manage long-term program goals
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience (Master's Degree Preferred)
7+ years leading medium to complex systems development including multiple million-dollar projects at one time or multi-million dollar programs typically with team sizes up to 50 people or less
Extensive experience managing multiple large very complex projects across multiple functions
Experience managing and mentoring staff including providing stretch opportunities and coaching to develop team and deliver results
Proven expertise working with Senior Leadership and successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
Excellent communication, presentation, change management, and influencer skills
Proven experience in anticipating stakeholder need and developing solutions, as well as identifying root causes for failures and tackling them, rather than just the symptoms
Developed specialized expertise in one or more area (IT or business)
