The Refugee Program Coordinator plans and organizes internal programs and activities and carries out the operational duties related to programs and activities. Coordinates and implements Diversity and Inclusion strategic objectives as it pertains to the refugee program throughout Gordon Food Service (North America) under the guidance of the Diversity Engagement and Inclusion North American Manager.
Coordinates and implements tasks and duties related to diversity and inclusion initiatives for North America by performing a broad spectrum of administrative duties
Keeps DEI NA Manager and Senior Manager NA Human Resources apprised of current DEI issues and potential problems as they develop; seeks advice and guidance as needed.
Attends various NA Diversity and Inclusion meetings and prepares agenda and summaries for distribution; serves as member of the DEI Steering Council and prepares correspondence and reports, working with NA leadership.
Tracks, monitors, and maintains accurate accounts for all expenses and balances to support the NA DEI initiative.
Assists with the preparation of diversity-related statistical information ( i.e DEI Scorecard, Refugee Retention, etc.) as needed.
Manages all DEI internal and external communication through GFS communication team for NA.
Serves as liaison with internal and external parties on matters related to DEI.
Creates and maintains a comprehensive annual schedule of programs including workshops, guest presenters, professional development opportunities and related activities that support the development of the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to create an inclusive learning and working environment.
Continues to build positive relationships with NA DEI Action teams.
Responsible for the full life-cycle of the refugee and immigrant program design and management.
Coordinates hiring of diverse workforce with non-profit agencies, GFS divisions, and talent acquisition teams.
Identifies and implements solutions to reduce/eliminate barriers of employment for immigrant workforce.
Identifies potential areas for process improvement regarding hiring and retention of refugee populations.
Works with stakeholders to identify and support the interpretation and translation needs of the diverse employee populations.
Works with vendors and organizations that provide support services with refugee and immigrant employees.
Our leading candidate will have:
Two or more years experience implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or Public Relations or related field preferred.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM, Hybrid role working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
