Job Description
In this function you will:
- Supervise all personnel and operations in assigned department or shift.
- Directs production employees with respect to yield rates, on-time performance objectives, efficiency/productivity objectives, quality and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of processes and equipment in assigned department or shift.
- Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of production employees
- Report any process and equipment problems and notify appropriate personnel for assistance with problems when required.
- Maintains adherence to Company policies, rules, regulations, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Train, upgrade, evaluate and review operators.
- Schedule and organize work to achieve a smooth operation (at times, for 3-shift operation / other times, administers the off-shift schedules for departmental supervisors).
- Schedule overtime as necessary and required.
- Assures machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
- Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions, take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.
- Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained.
- Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
- Resolves daily production demand issues, quality problems, and customer commitment requirements.
- Keep employee records of attendance, performance, and departmental activities, as required.
- Achieve production quality and quantity standards.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing OR operations environment.
- Minimum 3 year of supervisory experience.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited institution.
Position Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and implement change activities.
- Working knowledge of current manufacturing, engineering, materials management and quality assurance methods and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate employees.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships at all levels in the organization.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
- Lean/Six Sigma knowledge and understanding.
