Our Birds Eye Foods facility in Darien, Wisconsin is looking for you to join our team as a Production Specialist. This is our entry-level, general labor position where many of our supervisors and managers started. The opportunities for growth and development are endless as part of Conagra Brands!
To perform this job successfully:
- You will need to meet the physical requirements to perform all duties safely.
- You will have the communication skills necessary to perform all duties and training.
- You will need to be familiar with basic math such as add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- You will be expected to follow all rules regarding safety and quality.
- You must be willing to understand and follow rules of good manufacturing practices.
- You will be expected to understand and follow rules for safe allergen handling and control.
- You will be expected to work well with others as part of a production team.
- You will be required to meet all attendance requirements of this position.
- You will be expected to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
What you will be doing:
- We will help you develop a working knowledge of production schedules; learning to read and follow schedule instructions and become familiar with options available for changes.
- You will learn how to manually or automatically assemble cases to meet production requirements/specifications.
- You may monitor auto filled bags or trays for required fill weight, back seal, end seal, label placement, date code and label accuracy to requirements/specifications.
- We will show you how to select acceptable bags/units for hand casing accurately for case count, orientation, and placement.
- You will report deviations from product requirements to the operators or supervisors.
- You will visually inspect products and ingredients for blemishes or other flaws, extraneous vegetable material, or discolored units.
- We will train you on how to stop production to report any serious deviation in quality or operating parameters, or malfunction of line equipment.
- You will maintain work area housekeeping and department janitoring.
- You will assist operators and others with start-up, production, change over, and shut down of production.
- You may perform other jobs within the facility and will receive upgrade pay for those tasks.
