Job Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Team Lead in Production Planning oversees activities related to production planning and inventory management in the facility.  Drives root-cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, communicates findings and implements new processes & procedures to mitigate in the future. Conducts periodic audits to challenge the process and identifies processes that make the site more proactive in control.  Coordinates production schedules to establish sequence and lead time for each operation to meet established production goals.  Confers with production supervisors to determine status of projects. Identifies operations that delay schedules and recommends schedule adjustments to meet unforeseen circumstances. Prepares production reports.  Strong technical and analytical skills.  2 to 5 years engineering experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees production schedule and material planning related to schedule execution – production shop orders, picklist.
  • Provides coaching to a team of support staff and the material planner
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual capacity planning data;
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly master schedule for all production and packaging lines;
  • Set safety stock targets and manage portfolio with SKU velocity conditions in mind;
  • Improve capacity utilization by effectively balancing product mix and optimizing constraints; review demand and supply to meet demand.
  • Manage FG WIP inventory at D/C’s and provide information to Supply Planning to facilitate appropriate Interplant transfers;
  • Work closely with the team to ensure execution of production plan/schedule at appropriate efficiency levels;
  • Work closely with R&D to coordinate scheduling of product test runs as per PTR requirement;
  • Work with QA to ensure production runs in compliance with our high quality measures;
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager related to production plan and effective execution of MRP process.
  • Review packaging materials for advance booking of orders to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Lead plant operation support specialist to ensure information is properly processed and reports are generated accordingly;
  • Involve and lead process improvement and lean projects;
  • Provide the Plant Manager with reports on production run, rates, attainment, adherence, etc.
  • Various other duties assigned by the Plant Manager.

Requirements, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Business preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in  a food manufacturing industry, preferably in a relatable capacity;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in production scheduling;
  • Proficient computer skills, Excel spreadsheets and data management;
  • Operations Management / CPIM graduate preferred;
  • ERP system experience preferred but not required;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Languages: speak, read and write English
  • Motivation, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
