Job Description
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned
- Leads team meetings, both regularly scheduled and ad-hoc with counterparts in Logistics, Deployment, Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Deployment, Customer Service, R&D, Engineering and Commercialization teams
- Key member of plant startup transition team, leading discussions around scheduling optimization to ensure service and cost considerations are met.
- Prepares a 13 week rolling master plan for a selected set of manufacturing plants and a monthly view
- Creates a constrained rough cut capacity plan over the 24 month S&OP planning horizon.
- Makes recommendations via S&OP process to determine long term requirements for production and inventory.
- Develops multiple scenarios, articulates key decisions and recommendations to Supply Chain Leadership team highlighting service, inventory and cost tradeoffs using planning toolkit.
- Owns Slow Moving and Obsolete visibility throughout the entire process, working with Marketing to monitor new products and proactively adjust production, and with Sales to identify and execute run out strategies.
- Leads continuous improvement projects and / or efficiency plays in the evolution of the supply planning strategy within the Business Unit.
- Manages assigned SKU’s throughout the entire supply chain and communicates disruptions to Supply Chain leadership team.
- Manages inventory for a portfolio of resource lines to achieve established targets.
- Defines and sets safety stock targets and manage portfolio with SKU velocity conditions in mind.
- Monitors Days Forward Cover and Weeks of Supply levels working together with Deployment Director to ensure that inventory is available by location to support projected demand.
- Works with R&D, coordinate the New Product Launch process from initiation to customer delivery.
- Prepares for, and leads the discussion in the Weekly Tactical Meetings by presenting the previous week’s master schedule and the level of adherence from plants.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively and creatively in a resource lean environment
- Detail orientated, organized, reliable, resourceful with a relentless focus on outcomes
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure
- Excellent consultative skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels of the organization
- Solid leadership and communication skills concentrated on data gathering, meeting facilitation and data dissemination
- System skills to manage supply planning tasks using software applications, ERP, and data warehousing/ancillary systems
- Strong project management and communication skills concentrated on data gathering and dissemination
- APICS Certification; CPIM/CSCP
- Detailed and result orientated project management on several projects at the same time.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload
- 5-8 years of experience in Supply Planning —preferably in food manufacturing
- Business or Operations experience, with solid quantitative skills
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or Business preferred
