Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of the Production Legal/Clearance group reports to the Director of the department and provides direct supervision of one or more direct reports at the Manager level and below. The role requires knowledge of film/television production in the areas of below-the-line legal agreements and clearances.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for negotiating and obtaining a variety of production agreements including but not limited to rights clearances for all programming content, locations, catering, lighting packages, car/truck rental and animal wrangler agreements.

• Ensures that all production agreements falling under their purview are in compliance with legal, financial, risk management and administrative requirements.

• Mentor, train, and develop team members.

• Manage team members including formal and informal performance feedback, talent planning, etc

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years in experience in the television industry

• Proven organizational and prioritization skills

• Experience at communicating effectively at all levels of the organization

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to exercise appropriate judgment in executing tasks without supervision

• Ability to multi-task a variety of projects at any given time

• Effective communication skills in both verbal and written form

• Precise attention to detail.

• Strong organization and time management.

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

• Must possess enthusiasm, flexibility and creativity and be willing to assume challenges and increased responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience managing employees

• SAP experience

Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

• JD preferred, but not required
