Job Purpose:

The Production Assistant is responsible for performing various routine tasks in an assigned area of a chocolate manufacturing site following defined standard operating procedures.  This role has a manufacturing production focus on basic operating, setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, cleaning, change over, hand packing, assembly or packaging) equipment.  

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:      

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Previous fork lift driving experience
• Mechanical or Technical aptitude
• Successful completion of a substance screening and background check

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for periods of time
• Ability to read/comprehend written and oral instruction in the English language
• Must be willing and able to work varying/rotating shifts including weekends and holidays

What will you be responsible for?

• Performs a wide range of semi-skilled and unskilled jobs to support production operations
• Performs non-maintenance tasks that are needed to maintain product flow and routine equipment operation including area set up, clearing jams, cleaning areas and disposing of defective product or raw materials
• Operates in a safe and efficient manner using established standard operating procedures
• Performs, monitors and prepares product quality and hand packing (bulk pack, six pack, finished goods, etc)
• Any ad hoc tasks
