Job Description:

AMT-SYBEX is a recognised leader in the implementation of map-based mobile work management solutions to the Utilities, Public Sector and Environmental Services markets. 

We’re embarking in a major multi-year product transformation programme, to deliver our next generation products and we are looking for experienced high-end technical lead to join our product team to lead the development of our mobile field work management products – and will provide technical guidance, leadership and stewardship to our team of talented developers as we create our latest multi-OS product offering in the Mobile product suite.

The successful candidate will be working on a variety of software product deliveries, using the latest development tools, targeting leading-edge mobile technologies and working with agile development processes.

Location - This role is based Edinburgh(Central Scotland) with flexibility to work remotely, home-based. Flexibility to travel to Edinburgh office when needed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • As a Product Technical Lead you will be part of Mobile Applications Development team develop and design software programs and products. Participates in technical design of software sub-systems or components.

  • Using design, engineering and analysis skills and working closely with Product Owners and Product Management, you will determine the technical approaches to how we will deliver product solutions to meet their strategic and feature visions.

  • You’ll be hands-on working with developers and other technical leads to set the direction and provide technical mentorship and expertise to our teams, and motivate and promote software development excellence as we grow successful development teams,

  • Develops complex software components. Provides team and project leadership for software development activities.

  • Develops interfaces and drivers for hardware devices, software platforms and data exchange. Advises developers on best methods of software development and code creation.

  • Monitors and modifies development work to make sure resulting software meets established goals.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Lead the development of our mobile field work management products
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance
  • Set the technical direction for development teams
  • Promote software engineering excellence to deliver high quality software products
  • Significant experience of commercial product development using Scrum/Kanban methodologies;
  • Experience of leading, collaborating and enabling global delivery teams to deliver high quality product solutions that deliver value to our customers;
  • Demonstrable experience of championing excellence in software design, coding and development best practices to steer your teams to produce high quality software, following TDD/BDD and CI/CD practices;
  • Experience of working with the design, development, or implementation of mobile or field work software products;
  • Track record of mentoring, coaching or leading technical/development teams;
  • Very strong .Net / C# coding background.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in software engineering, computer science or related subject.
  • Exposure to mobile field working and mobile communication technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise mobile map, asset and work management products.
  • Experience with GIS and spatial databases
  • Xamarin Forms / MAUI
  • MS Azure
