What you’ll be doing:
owning the delivery of new modules, features or functions from a product perspective while working with development, documentation, professional services and other stakeholders
owning and managing product backlogs and prioritizing work for software product releases for selected products
working with the Product team to determine release content and with the delivery team to ensure requirements are delivered as specified and on time
acting as the product expert for your products and helping to identify reported issues and resolve them
working closely with support colleagues to help resolve customer problems where they cannot be solved at first line and understanding trends in the products
answering customer and field support questions and providing guidance and support for product issues
identifying, documenting and report designing reliability and maintenance problems and bugs
gathering and consolidating feedback from customers and field staff
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
Recent experience as a Product Owner for one or more software products (or product-team adjacent)
Experience in delivering on-premise and cloud based software products
Good knowledge of Agile software development and delivery principles
Excellent clarity of communication skills and ability to distil complex information to simple stakeholder messages suitable for technical or non-technical audiences
Experience dealing with clients/customers and communicating in a professional manner
Ability to identify potential issues or conflicts and knowing when to escalate
Ability to own the delivery of software from start to end, working collaboratively to ensure a ‘can do’ attitude across teams
Desirable:
Experience of and desire to mentor colleagues
Experience of working effectively with offshore development teams
Experience of Aha product management tool
Experience with Azure DevOps (product backlog management tool)
Knowledge of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
Local Government background and experience – particularly Education
Technical software knowledge – SQL, databases, etc
