About the role

Digitisation and IOT are driving new use cases for secure, reliable, and scalable private networks in industry sectors such as Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics and Energy & Utilities. This convergence of the adoption of Industry 4.0 ecosystems and the need for the reliable, secure connectivity is driving customers to adopt Private Networks using 4G and 5G.

VMO2’s intention is to be the leader in providing private networks to UK industry as part of our commitment to be the UK’s Connectivity Champion. We want to provide our customers with a complete, end-to-end solution, working as a trusted partner to help them adopt the wider industry 4.0 ecosystems (IoT, Cloud, MEC, etc.) and to achieve their digital transformation ambitions.

Join our team to play a critical role in helping our customers deploy private networks and solve ambitious problems.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development:

You will be supporting the development of features and stories that facilitate product development. This will require you to;

  • Work with agile team to decompose capabilities/features into user stories with acceptance stories to seed the product backlog
  • Work with Solution and Technology colleagues to define and prioritise requirements and features

Product Delivery:

You will be supporting the delivery of features and stories that facilitate product delivery. This will require you to;

  • Demonstrate completed user stories and increments to business stakeholders
  • Enable the building of POCs/prototypes, wireframes and technically testing them thoroughly to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet customer needs
  • Working with the customer to regularly feedback on recommendations, plans and challenges
  • Work with wider stakeholders to support conversion of PoC and trials into full deployments, supporting the customer with business case development and building use-case roadmaps
  • Collaborating with Legal & Procurement around customer NDAs, Contracts & supplier Contracts

What We Need from You:

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to work in an agile way that positively challenges ways of working in O2 and ensures quick and low-cost turnaround of proof of concepts, trials, and product launches
  • Exposure to and experience across IoT, Edge, Machine Learning and AI enabled by 5G
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with good organisational and time management skills
  • Experience of trialling, launching, and iterating innovative B2B products and solutions in an agile way
  • A strong customer focus: ability to deal with and capture insights and requirements from customers at all levels of the organisation without losing sight of O2’s business objectives
  • Product and market knowledge. A good depth and breadth across multiple domains - industries and products/services
  • Numeric and commercial – you will need to understand a P&L and develop business cases for innovation
  • Experience of working with partners/vendors, from supplier search and onboarding to management
  • Demonstrable experience in a high achieving, fast paced environment.
  • Professional, diplomatic, and tactful especially when in pressured situations
