Job Description

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports the sales team in the execution and implementation of agreed upon annual sales and marketing plans.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of target markets in terms of technologies used and strategic positioning. Applies this knowledge to identify portfolio strategies to drive incremental growth. Handle product intelligence, research, forecasts of product volume, specs, features, and benefits.
  • In conjunction with strategic marketing, develops product life cycle plans with clearly defined product introductions and rationalizations to ensure a competitive product portfolio. Defines product positioning as well as product features, performance requirements, and required testing.
  • Works with strategic marketing and marketing communications to develop an effective mix of promotional materials. Provides leadership in the development of product literature and technical reports for new and existing products. Develops and presents training materials for both internal and external customers.
  • Active member of key account and developmental teams for Avery Dennison Medical.
  • Collaborate with R&D to provide solutions for customer’s product and application needs. Helps to drive projects to completion.
  • Overall objectives will be aligned with those of the business unit for meeting corporate revenue and profitability goals of the business unit. Handles key account product lines to ensure product and sales growth in their markets.
  • Drives global pricing plans for the portfolio. Understands costs, value, and regional pricing requirements. Establishes list pricing as well as reviews and provides input into special pricing requests.
  • Ensures delivery of products at risk in conjunction with Supply Chain, Operations and Procurement.
  • Identifies new procedures/processes, maintains stocking and inventory levels, supports promotional efforts, and resolves quality/delivery, etc. issues.
  • Interacts with Operations, Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Trade Compliance, and RA/QA to ensure sales goals are achieved.
  • Works closely with other Avery divisions to bring materials into the portfolio to support the business.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in science, engineering, marketing or business) or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
  • 2-5 years experience in marketing, sales, or technical service preferred. Experience working in matrixed global teams is preferred
  • Must possess product, application, and end user knowledge as well as an understanding of how decisions are made in the value chain. Medical device experience is preferred.
  • Able to champion new ideas, with excellent organizational, people, and project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Understanding of business/portfolio planning, tactical implementation, as well as commercialization processes in both B2B and branded environments.
  • Self-starter and collaborative teammate. Self-motivated with a high level of energy and demonstrate eye for business in areas of decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to implement and effectively handle multiple projects during a given time frame.
  • Ability to advocate for a defined portfolio and communicate complex ideas effectively with customers, sales, marketing peers, and management.
  • Strong abilities to lead presentations or training.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Consistent record of developing and maintaining relationships in teams with varied strengths and markets
  • Possess positive individual leadership qualities and assertiveness in influencing others.
