Job Description

Are you ready to join an impactful Product Management team where you can have a significant impact on the performance of a leading toy brand, and its customers?

This role plays a critical part in modernizing our Supply Chain planning capabilities, and better connecting our manufacturing sites and logistics partners to improve our shopper experience for our B2B and Direct businesses.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop an ambitious and clear product vision and communicate it effectively to relevant partners and the team, so they’re aligned, and invested in the strategic direction

• Translate product strategy into a product roadmap, identifying and generating new ideas that grow market share, drive commercial and business value and improve colleague or customer experience

• Define, monitor and report the product teams quarterly objectives and key results performance, in line with our portfolio strategic goals and key results, and wider market context

• Lead product discovery with the team, researchers and wider partners to develop, experiment and test new ideas that help shape the value proposition

• Work closely with the product team and relevant customers to ensure that the product is continually improved to deliver better outcomes for shoppers, consumers or LEGO colleagues

• Drive end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production

• Integrate usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure user cantered design

• Ensure communication around priorities, developments and changes are clearly understood by partners across the business

• Plan product development out into future by e.g maintaining a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team

• Take ownership for creating user stories, and ensure there are sufficient number of user stories that have been refined and estimated by the team for upcoming sprints

• Involvement in sprint planning meetings to help provide clarity and elaborate user stories to help the team better understand the requirements

• Successfully identifies risks and mitigations that remove risk and uncertainty early in product development

• Promote and encourage a continuous delivery culture within the product team, with focus on releasing value incrementally to deliver against objectives and key results

• Act as a subject matter expert for the product team in Supply Chain, providing insight, context and additional information as needed to help understanding of what is required

• Good knowledge of the technology landscape in eCommerce and Supply Chain

• A great communicator and ability to clearly articulate the problem and proposed solution

• Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design and business

• Storytelling and evangelism

• Ability to understand and draw out key themes and trends from analysis of customer and market data

• Technically curious, with a good understanding of software development practices and web/mobile technologies

• Able to make and take ownership for decisions at a fast pace

• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrixed organisation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Great at providing feedback in a way that is both positive and meaningful

• Proven experience in working with SAAS solutions and third party suppliers

Product Leadership Skills

• A proven track record of leading cross-functional agile teams through the full product life cycle

• Ability to quickly gain the confidence of the business and colleagues through good communication and influencing skills and acting as an advocate of the Product Management team both externally and internally

• Ensure effective leadership of the team; maintaining a continuous learning environment, setting clear objectives to ensure there is clarity on what needs to be achieved for any given work

• Offer a supportive coaching style, proactively encouraging personal and professional development and achievement across the product team

Technical Skills (non-exhaustive)

• Critical thinking – developing product vision & strategy, value propositions, and defining product market fit

• Product discovery – identifying user needs & adopting user centred design practices to develop opportunities into hypotheses, ideas, and prototypes for user testing

• Product optimisation techniques – setting up experiments such as A/B and multi-variant tests to validate and build confidence in our hypotheses

• Product Frameworks e.g agile development, value proposition design, lean canvas, JTBD, ITIL

• Tools e.g Confluence, data visualisation, Figma, Jira, Version One

• Voice of Customer – collaborating with the design team and insights to devise ways to understand customer needs and underlying motivators

A Product Manager is accountable for the success of their product, setting the product vision and strategy, defining objectives and key results for the product team, in close alignment with their partners.

The Product Manager owns the product backlog, prioritising and maintaining the development of opportunities that the team are working on, ensuring that they deliver the most significant value for LEGO and for our customers.

The Product Manager creates an environment for continuous improvement in the product team, promoting and living our values, recognising everyone’s potential to deliver unique experiences for LEGO across the physical and digital world.
