We are continuing to turbocharge digital and data across M&S. On the back of that, we are looking for an outstanding Product Manager to holistically lead the product management of payments from strategy creation, product planning and build, through to launch and optimisation. You'll coordinate with different business partners throughout the lifecycle, such as UX and Technology.
Acting as the voice of the ‘customer’, you will translate needs into a product roadmap and backlog, constantly prioritising and developing the team’s capacity to improve customer and business value.
You'll be working in collaboration with other Product Managers on cross-product team dependencies, helping to develop strong working relationships with relevant M&S business owners and with retail-specific technology expertise.
Key accountabilities and measures
- Identify and apply insight from customer research, data analytics, market and competitor analysis, as well as the latest industry, product and technology trends.
- Build sophisticated business cases that include market analysis, costs, business/user benefits, OPEX & CAPEX calculations, sensitivity analysis and NPS output.
- Handle a backlog of business requirements and customer problems, as well as new features, optimisation of existing features, technical debt and quick wins vs strategic projects.
- Contribute to each quarterly prioritisation process and build a hi-level product roadmap, presenting it to wider teams and business partners on a regular basis.
- Exhibit a proficient comprehension of full technology stack and understand how your product interacts with all areas of the business.
- Develop clear and compelling value propositions, working with the wider M&S business to align and agree.
- Identify a variety of possible features and solutions that address the problem and best reinforce the value proposition.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of all UX design and research methods.
- Efficiently deliver agile product responsibilities in all heart-beat sessions.
- Collaborate with the scrum master to inspect and adapt the teams working practices to best suit the product lifecycle, optimising value delivery as a result.
- Be responsible for the development of user stories, the development backlog and sprint plan.
- Lead the UAT for your features and prioritise the issues ahead of release.
Key skills
- You'll have experience working in product management, demonstrating successful development and delivery of product strategies and roadmaps.
- Your approach will be customer-centric, applying this approach with passion into the relevant product area.
- Experience of handling successful delivery in an Agile software environment, delivering customer-led outcomes.
- You're able to communicate excellently and deal with business partners, both technical and non-technical, authoritatively.
- Able to apply competitive analysis skills, pricing and financial planning.
- You are a connector, bringing people together to help make improvements, even in areas outside your ownership.
- You have the ability to strongly influence decisions.
