Microsoft Cloud for Industry group focuses on building the Azure capabilities for key industry verticals like Retail, FSI, Agriculture, Energy, etc. to meet the critical requirements of the customers belonging to these industry verticals on their digital transformation journey involving public cloud. If you are passionate about leveraging cloud to solve cutting-edge industry problems and solutions focused on Data and AI for new product platforms and if a start up like environment where you can define and mold the product strategy gets you excited, then this role might be a great fit for you.

We are the Azure Energy product team, and we are in search of PM’s with proven technical product management skills to help us define and deliver on the product roadmap for the Energy industry. We are building cloud services and capabilities for different Energy verticals like Oil and Gas, Sustainability, Power and Utilities, Renewables and more so we can help these industries with their business transformation and help Microsoft, and its partners and customers realize that Azure should be the world’s computer for Energy. This role will have tremendous visibility and scope as you will need to work across the different product groups within Microsoft as well as the sustainability team, CELA, Data center and supply chain orgs, Office, Digital Transformation product group etc. You will also need to work with a global stakeholders both internally in Microsoft as well as externally.

Responsibilities Include:

• Craft a vision for your area of ownership. Use data and necessary insights to rally the organization around that vision.
• Take ownership of end-to-end business scenarios; problem definition, solutions and technical strategy.
• Drive partnership and collaboration with internal products/services and external partners on both technology and solution front.
• Collaborate across diverse set of stakeholders (engg., product marketing, sales, customer support, customer advisor, etc.) to deliver the value-prop of the platform.
• Take a structural approach in solving complex problems. Communicate to senior decision makers in a clear and compelling way.
• Define targets for key business KPIs, and track and report progress on them.
• Define and implement quality of service and SLA metrics for platforms and services that you will own.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in product management or technical product management in software companies.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience building out cloud services in Data Platform, IoT, AI, Compute, Storage and other related technologies in the cloud.
• Bachelors and/or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent degree. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or understanding of any of the Energy verticals and their problems (Oil and Gas Exploration scenarios or Sustainability or Power and Utilities, Control systems).
• Bonus if you have strong experience in machine learning, or other Data and AI technologies.
