This presents continuous opportunities to work on strategic and innovative data products that drive spend, build customer loyalty, identify new opportunities, and guides product strategies for ESC and our partners.

We are looking for a Product Manager - Data who is passionate about innovating and delivering high quality, differentiated data solutions across the Pharmacy & Health Benefits Market. The Product Manager - Data balances the strategy, governance, and implementation of data-related products, and facilitates the conversations between all impacted stakeholders—executives, engineers, analysts, data scientists, other product teams, and external customers—who consume the data. The Product Manager is responsible for understanding product fit for the Pharmacy & Health Benefit Management market and works with cross-disciplinary teams to build innovative analytics products and solutions that are targeted at providing insights to carriers, plan sponsors and improving plan member health outcomes, whilst optimizing drug plan effectiveness.

This position is responsible for working closely with ESC’s Data Analytics to develop new products including assisting in defining and delivering new client-facing data products such as the ESC Analytics/Insights Platform.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strategic direction and analytics expertise to guide development of new analytics/data related products geared for the Pharmacy Benefit Management industry

  • Conduct research to identify customer needs and market gaps including creation of business cases for new products or enhancements

  • Work collaboratively with ESC’s Data Analytics team, other internal business units and insurance carriers to determine what data related products or enhancements are required to address new business needs, improvements or challenges

  • Maintain a product backlog for ESC Data Related Reporting Solutions and develop multi-year roadmap.  Responsible for preparing and maintaining the product roadmap which defines product enhancements for short- and long-term goals. 

  • Understand the budget and forecast for designated product line(s). Work in tandem with Program office to report on the financials.

  • Assist in the definition, design and delivery of new client-facing data products within the ESC Analytics Platform and related applications

  • Facilitate workshops and discussions with clients to understand reporting needs

  • Develops product pricing and positioning strategies; Work with marketing teams on Go-to-Market plans and product launch of new products

  • Support delivery managers and scrum teams to document monitor and revise the following artifacts in support of application development: product requirements, process maps, use cases, user acceptance test plans, and project plans.

  • Provide feedback and review requirements in the form of user stories and related acceptance criteria.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science or Engineering preferred; MBA a plus

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ product management experience

  • Product Management certification, Agile Scrum Product Owner training are an asset

  • Knowledge of the Pharmacy or Group Health Insurance (pharmacy, dental, other health) industry or adjudication systems

  • Strong data analytics background with a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into creative and engaging output. Advanced analytics modelling is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of business intelligence/reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau and D3 with related experience analyzing data as well as writing queries and reports 

  • Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC processes in relation to the Product Development Lifecycle (PDL)

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.

  • Ability to drive consensus between stakeholders with competing views/requirements

  • Demonstrates strong ability to work on multiple initiatives and prioritize work accordingly
