We’re working on Microsoft Teams Consumer – a consumer messaging & communications product to bring family and friends together to call, chat, and make plans—all in one app.


We are creating a new capability in Customer & Partner Ecosystem engineering team to incubate & develop product – market fit for Microsoft Teams Consumer in Emerging Markets like India. We are looking for product managers with a focus on consumer experiences. You will be responsible for defining beta programs, community outreach, collating critical voice of customers, and using data insights to inform future plans as part of early cycles of product development. This role requires a mix of product thinking, strategic thinking, cross-team collaboration, and external customer engagement.


As part of Microsoft Teams’ Customer & Partner Ecosystem Group we are responsible for working on landing early product vision in critical markets with consumers, enterprises & developers. The successful candidate will build upon a history of leading successful consumer centric customer programs – e.g. in a direct field role or overlay function – with good product and technical sense. Since this is a customer-facing role, travel is to be expected.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize & set up early adoption program for Microsoft Teams Consumer in region with focus on activating engagements with groups/communities of different types
• Identify broader and/or latent trends and opportunities in market to drive longer-term investments and product shifts for consumer segments
• Study consumer product journeys, research & understand competitive landscape in region to build relevant product-market fit & be leading voice of customer
• Maintain and drive customer improvements feature backlog across all core areas of products including chat, meetings and platform with product engineering
• Advocate and drive activation of different communities with the power of the Teams through direct engagement, partnerships and scale channels with internal and external preview users
• Drive design and development for specific customer feedback to unblock adoption, then turn them into general solutions (new features), toolkits, documentation, etc. with special focus on local region/market needs.
• Drive programmatic motions partnering with customer-facing teams across functions such as account management, marketing, sales, business development, developer evangelism etc.
• Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap, as well as stay in sync with end-user features and service infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience in product marketing/management & program management either in an engineering role with a strong customer focus, or a business development role with a strong product focus
  • Experience creating and delivering best-in-class, scalable programs and activations
  • Ability to wear many hats and learn quickly, and the temperament to lead a change in direction when needed
  • Creative and critical thinking about customer programs and product capabilities
  • Innate curiosity and ability to self-start in an ambiguous and rapidly-changing startup environment
  • Strong project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills
  • Excellent in-person presentation skills with executives and end users; able to pivot quickly and adapt messaging to suit a range of audience technical levels and requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical
  • Good product thinking & problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
  • Experience in B2C product growth from 0-1 phase through on ground activations & partnerships is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is desired but not compulsory
