Product Management Consultant

Our role also involves acting as subject matter experts for internal and external product events or partner meetings. 

Join the VxRail Product Management team as a Product Management Consultant and help drive VxRail’s continuous execution and success as the market leading HCI platform.

What you’ll achieve

As a Product Management Consultant, you will identify new growth areas, technologies, and emerging product/service opportunities. You will conduct in-depth market analysis to optimize existing products/solutions and build next generation products, partnering closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to build a product roadmap and align product strategies for the business.

You will:

•Define and drive the VxRail networking portfolio strategy.

•Partner with VMware and Dell Networking to deliver new networking technologies and capabilities.

•Create product requirements for new VxRail networking features based on key innovative technologies and customer business requirements.

•Perform in-depth research and analysis of your market in support of product planning and business case development.

•Collaborate with other product managers, organizational leaders, engineering, and CTO to augment and support networking vision

•Coordinate with Dell Technologies organizations to review product concepts, align on roadmaps and strategy, and translate business needs into prioritized product requirements.

•Work across all functional areas including regional stakeholders and sales-makers, gathering inputs, updating product plans, and disseminating product knowledge to ensure product success and acceptance.

•Work with product marketing and technical marketing to create product collateral and messaging in support of all GTM activities and product transitions.

•Actively maintain key relationships with customers, partners, and sales to gather feedback and identify ways to improve the product definition.

•Present strategic product communications across multiple stakeholder organizations.

•Perform all product management duties from product inception to end-of-life.  This includes product definition and prioritization of product requirements, maintenance of roadmaps, positioning, competitive analysis, end of life transitions, etc.

•Monitor and review product evaluation metrics from multiple sources and ensure they are considered with future product enhancements.

Essential Requirements

•BA/BS degree and 12+ years’ experience of relevant experience in technical environment

•Experience with data center networking (IP, subnet, VLAN, switching, routing, LAG, DCB, RDMA)

•Experience with virtualization technologies, specifically VMware ESXi and related VMware virtual networking expertise (vSS, vDS, ENS, NSX)

•Strong technical skills in IT, datacenter, and networking

•Experience in defining long-term product strategy and vision.

•Business and entrepreneurial acumen with strategic and critical thinking.

•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.

•Experience defining products, collecting requirements, coordinating efforts to scope and scheduling and deploying new feature sets.

•Excellent communicator with exemplary writing and presentation skills and an innate ability to make very complex concepts and offerings simple and intuitive.

•Demonstrated skills in influencing, negotiating, and collaborating across multiple Sr. Leadership teams.

•Team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments with a proven ability to drive change through influence and collaboration across an organization.

Desirable Requirements

•Past experience in technical product management

•Experience with software defined architectures and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI)

•Experience with SmartNIC and Data Processing Units (DPU) technology
