Job Description

The Product Development Scientist DS1 is an important role within the Europe R&D Innovation Delivery System 1 organization.  It is responsible for insight development, design, development and translation of product innovations for the Favorites areas of growth with the gum and mints cell. This role will also be responsible to execute regional value leadership and supply security projects.  This role will be part of a team that will provide deep technical product and process understanding and will work with lead markets to develop insights to drive innovation. The incumbent will be responsible for leading product development activities and is accountable for the execution of the allocated projects within the Europe R&D Delivery System 1 team.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related technical field with a minimum 1 to 2 years industry experience.

or

Advanced degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related technical field.

and/or

Combination of education and 8 to 10 years demonstrated success in relevant food product development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Food product development or culinary industry experience.

What will be your key responsibilities?

They will:

1) be responsible for leading specific projects to deliver regional gum and mints Favorites innovation, value leadership and supply security.

2) They will participate as part of x-functional project teams to bring new innovations to market, ensuring delivery of the technical elements of the project.

3) They will possess an understanding of gum manufacturing technologies for which they will be developing new products, as well as working knowledge of process technology.

4) Strong knowledge of food science fundamentals and application to the product development process.

5) Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and strong communication skills.

6) Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams.
