AMT-SYBEX are a recognised leader in the implementation of mobile work management solutions to the Utilities, Transportation, Public Sector and Environmental Services markets. Our Affinity Mobile product suite is relied upon daily by thousands of field workers in the UK and abroad.

We are looking for a talented UX Programmer to create amazing user experiences within our products. The ideal candidate will be passionate about user experience design to translate high-level requirements, gathered from conducting user research, interviews and surveys, into user flows, mockups and prototypes.

Responsibilities

  • Own and design UX of the user journey through our Mobile products.
  • Work with internal and external clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet product needs and vision and solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Collaborate with product management and the engineering teams to define and implement innovative user interface and user experience solutions.
  • Provide UX expertise to support the delivery of our product strategy by researching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for mobile products.
  • Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design challenges.
  • Be the champion for the user in product design, taking a user-centric design approach to translate concepts to user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes to create product solutions that focus on the user experience
  • Identify UI/UX design problems in existing solutions and devise improvements;
  • Present designs to product engineering team peers and executive level stakeholders;
  • Responsible for the on-going management and enhancement of our design system.
  • Work closely with UX Designers, turning high level product requirements into clear workflows and designs.
  • Rapidly iterate on ideas in a collaborative environment with other team members
  • Create detailed workflows and user interface (UI) mockups. 
  • Collaborate with product management, product owners and the engineering teams to define and implement innovative user interface and user experience solutions.
  • Share and communicate designs with engineering teams for review and feedback.
  • Seek and incorporate feedback from internal and external stakeholders into appropriate design revisions.
  • Be the champion for the user in product design, taking a user-centric design approach to create product solutions that focus on the user experience.

Essential skills for the role are that you will have:

  • A flair for graphic design, evidenced by a strong portfolio
  • Experience working with and expanding on existing design systems;
  • Demonstrable expertise in standard industry software e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD etc;
  • A strong focus on high-quality outputs and outcomes when designing user interfaces for complex applications, translating user requirements into clear, elegant and usable solutions;
  • A sound understanding of the importance of user-centred design and design thinking
  • The ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently;
  • Understanding of accessibility and usability standards e.g. W3C;
  • Experience of working in Agile software development teams;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and products
  • A strong appreciation for UI/UX and design in the product development lifecycle

Desirable skills are:

  • ·   Experience of the utilities/field worker sector.
  • ·   Software development and/or experience of the Microsoft technology stack would be an advantage.
  • ·   Experience working with software lifecycle management tools e.g. JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  • ·   Experience and understanding of designing mobile apps, desktop and web user interfaces
