The Role:
You will write up to 60 product descriptions per day, 15 SEO banner descriptions per week and SEO meta copy so you must be a fast writer with a flair for spelling and grammar. You should have a thorough knowledge of fashion terms, a strong understanding of SEO and a high level of computer literacy as you will be expected to use spreadsheets and an ecommerce platform/CMS. You will be inputting product information daily, so as well as being able to write small pieces of editorial copy you must be adept at adding fabric information, fit type, measurements and washcare into the system.
Whilst you will be expected to include small snippets of ‘how to wear’ copy and to write SEO banner copy, this is not an editorial role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working from product to write descriptions for all departments across the site- covering womens, mens, accessories, homeware, footwear, tall, petite, plus size, maternity and teens
• Inputting all product information into the CMS including washcare, product details, dimensions and keywords
• Regularly sub-edit the site to ensure copy is free from errors and discrepancies
• Working closely with the Discovery Optimisation, Trade and Photography teams to ensure all product information is up-to-date and correct so that copy reflects product seen in imagery
• Working to a very strict deadline — all products allocated to you daily must be complete by the end of each working day
• Maintaining a good working relationship with the group buying, supply chain, legal and merchandising teams to ensure correct product information is placed online
• Awareness of SEO impacts on product descriptions and titles, working with the SEO team to ensure correct terms are used where applicable
• Ensuring the New Look tone of voice is adhered to across all written product descriptions, banner copy and UX copy
• Keeping a copy style guide updated with new terms and descriptions
• Conducts keyword research to drive optimisation of copy
• Writing search engine optimised banner copy and meta copy
• Write editorial articles for New Look Daily
• Marketing newsletters
About You:
• Preferably a minimum of 1 year relevant experience
• English or similar Fashion/Communication at degree level
• Knowledge of SEO
