Product Analyst Unsecured Lending, Wealth and Personal Banking - 0000FZEZ
Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. We provide products and services such as bank accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as asset management, insurance, wealth management and private banking, that best suit our customers’ needs.
We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Product Analyst, Unsecured Lending.
The Unsecured Lending team drives all product lifecycle activities and proposition development for personal loans and credit cards, including customer acquisition, customer journey enhancements, product pricing, retention strategies, existing customer management, marketing and portfolio management. You will work on GBP 7bn Personal Loans and GBP 7bn Credit Card portfolios and support over 7m customers with their lending needs. The role is across all RBWM brands, working with wider Banking and Propositions colleagues, Marketing, Digital, Distribution, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, Global Teams and Card Schemes (Visa and Mastercard).
In this role, you will be:
Expected to manipulate/interpret complex data and analysis to support the right business outcomes.
Expected to create data driven reports to help understand the business needs and generate actionable outcomes.
Implement new product pricing and/or proposition changes, gaining relevant stakeholder approval. Monitor the financial performance of each product meets business requirements and amend where necessary, to ensure financial viability and profitability of the Card / Personal Loans
Responsible for Personal Loans and Credit Cards across the customer lifecycle working across brands (HSBC, first direct, M&S and John Lewis) and channels (Digital, Network and UKCC).
Working with a wide range of stakeholders including wider Banking and Propositions colleagues, Marketing, Digital, Distribution, Risk, Finance, CRM & Analytics, Compliance, Legal, IT and Transformation.
Supporting with the development and delivery of the Unsecured Lending Strategy and Annual Operating Plans.
Demonstrating leadership within working parties to identify risks to plan and ensure delivery of initiatives to address.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Analytical degree level education (Maths, Finance or Engineering) would be desirable
Highly experienced in the use of Excel.
Confident working with complex formulas, pivots and macros.
Ability to translate data and analysis into compelling insights and recommendations
Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
Be able to create, develop and deliver initiatives and projects that generate incremental revenue and profit to our business area
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
An excellent understanding of the Credit Cards industry and P&L levers is required.
The base location for this role will be Birmingham but other working locations and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
