The product Manager is responsible for all facets of managing the business including; growth, innovation and cost goals. They own the development and management of their portfolio. Their direct staff consists of product managers responsible for product lines within the Aftermarket Division. Their products are sold across a broad customer base that includes original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), OEM dealers, and independent distributors located throughout the United States and Canada
Job Responsibilities:
•Lead their direct and cross-functional teams to innovate and grow the current product lines, launch new product lines that complement our current portfolio and capabilities as an organization
•Work through the Product Management organization to achieve savings targets by partnering with the Direct Material Optimization and Purchasing teams
•Segment the market and develop strategies to achieve growth across product lines
•Develop and execute strategies to achieve business sales and growth projections
•Analyze and evaluates competitive market trends to support the AOP and BSR plans
•Develop and manage product line budgets and expenses
•Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stake holders to align actions and achieve
•Develop and execute product line strategies that will drive the sales and marketing effort for assigned product lines
•Measure effectiveness of initiatives to provide on-going research and analysis
•Plan product line activities and manage to the marketing calendar
•Participate in AOP and BSR processes as required
•Develop and implement annual pricing strategies for each product line to meet pricing targets while insuring market competitiveness
•Participate as needed in initiatives to effectively manage CVA’s multiple brands
•Provide regular analysis of each product lines’ performance
•Use tracking templates to monitor promotions and provide feedback to sales group
•Measure effectiveness of product line strategies to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats•
Development of product line training programs
•Maintain product line catalog information and cross references
•Maintain customer contact to facilitate flow of market intelligence
•Maintain product content updated on website
•Manages product line content – depth and breadth
•Provides primary pricing strategy / market analysis to ensure competitive position and accuracy
•Cross functional communication of product and marketing initiatives
•Follow and lead team of functional representatives through projects
•Work across the Marketing department on various initiatives
•Utilize industry contacts to assist with the elimination of excess and surplus inventories
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor degree required,
3-5 or more years of experience required with responsibilities for business management / product management / marketing / program / project management and a demonstrated track record of success
oStrongly prefer experience in the markets, products, and customers of the Aftermarket Division
•Proven business skills and interpersonal communication / influencing skills required
•PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power Point and Excel
•The Aftermarket Organization has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person has had one or more years experience in the position or similar position
