As a Procurement team, we align our vision, purpose and activities with the Business Strategy, with the aim of transforming and delivering sustainable value. We do this by developing strong business partnerships with the business to deliver their objectives and negotiate best commercial outcomes, bringing market insight to drive commercial value & innovation in the supply base and understanding risk to facilitate business decisions.

As a member of the Marketing Procurement team, you will contribute towards defining and delivering value to the Clothing, Home & Food Marketing teams. With a spend of c.£180m across more than 650 suppliers, you will develop close business partnerships with Marketing to advise on all things commercial.

As an experience procurement professional, you will be involved in -

  • Building meaningful and close relationships with HR and Consultancy, Finance, Legal & Procurement colleagues
  • Develop & deliver procurement strategies across Reward, Talent, Wellbeing, Business Continuity and L&D
  • Bringing external insights to support the development of Category Plans in line with the HR & Professional Services business strategy
  • Working with Finance to align & embed commercial benefits in the Budget
  • Managing end-to-end Source to Contract activity, taking responsibility for the development and approval of sourcing strategies, market testing, negotiation and contract award.
  • Managing the business contracts approvals process
  • Managing key agency relationships within the category and implement appropriate contract management activities to drive value throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Developing a risk mindset in the context of HR & Consultancy and develop plans for creating awareness and mitigation
  • Meeting agreed performance objectives
  • Identifying and progress areas for personal development
  • Strong team player and willingness to take part in wider Procurement and Finance team initiatives

As a Procurement Category Manager – Resource and Consultancy, we are looking for you to have the following attributes –

  • Extensive procurement experience, preferably within managing Resource & Consultancy spend
  • Strong commercial mindset, confident & capable of challenging the status quo
  • Ability to manage upwards with very senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication, influencing and networking skills
  • Experience of managing sourcing projects end-to-end
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to manage ambiguity & uncertainty
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience of contract drafting including development of schedules, commercials, and appropriate terms and conditions
  • Experience of managing supplier relationships and contracts to maximise value
  • Proven track record of delivering results & driving change
  • Proficient user of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience using Procurement systems
