Job Summary

The Processing Mill Operator provides Mars Petcare with the knowledge and skills to effectively and safely Batch/mix raw materials to high-quality product; efficiently receive, test, analyze, and process raw ingredients.

Principal Accountabilities

• Sampling of all incoming raw materials 
• Visually inspect incoming commodities and take appropriate action on issues such as infestation, pests, mold, or any other quality issue 
• Perform required quality testing 
• FOSS Analyzer and lab equipment operation  
• Receiving and Quality systems database interfacing 
• Ensure adherence to all site food safety and security practices 
• Actively address food safety and quality concerns. 
• Unloading of all incoming raw materials 
• Major bin strategy coordination 
• Hard stock grinder management 
• Batching System Operation 
• Meet cut-off and tones requirements 
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity 
• Improve operations through individual and group problem solving 
• Actively address food safety and quality concerns 
• Other duties as assigned 

Other Responsibilities

• Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership, and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision. 
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. 
• Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner. 
• Ability to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high, and/or confined spaces and have full mobility with the ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years’ experience (manufacturing environment preferred). 
• Good basic math, reading, and writing skills. Good mechanical aptitude. Basic knowledge of personal computers. Good problem-solving skills. Good housekeeping skills and knowledge of GMP's.
