Job Description
The PSM Engineer provides operational and lead responsibility for implementation and sustainment the PSM and regulatory programs for the site’s Anhydrous Ammonia (AA) covered process. Mars Burr Ridge has one covered process that exceeds the OHSA 1910.119 and EPA 112r requirements for a toxic chemical. The PSM Engineer will have full control of the covered process including working with the Mars Burr Ridge HSE Manager and Utility technicians and supervision.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors in an engineering discipline and 3+ years knowledge of OSHA PSM
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting implementing PSM compliance
- 2+ years of experience in a highly regulated environment
Preferred Requirements:
- Chemical Sciences/Engineering background
- Working knowledge of regulated chemicals i.e. flammable solvents and toxic substances
- PSM certification/training
- 2+ years of experience in a CPG environment
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in leading a team
- Demonstrated experience with CMMS systems
- Proven application of regulatory compliance tools
- Experience with managing PSM programs
- Experience with audits, corrective actions, and benchmarking
- Demonstrated experience with Anhydrous Ammonia systems
- Experience with large scale Refrigeration systems
- IIAR or other Refrigeration Technology member
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Maintain APSM tools used as a repository to store all PSM documents, files, PHAs, Mechanical Integrity PMs and other PSM programs.
- Work with Site’s HSE Manager to ensure record keeping and required reporting is met for PSM/RMP, and other similar regulatory activities for the company & contractors.
- Facilitate PHAs for the covered process as needed.
- Actively involved with the site PSM committee and review process to identify improvement opportunities for utility systems
- Plan and prioritize work for PSM compliance
- Coach and develop associates in Utilities team within the site around PSM requirements, as needed.
- Manage and update PSM Operating procedures, drawings, and maintain PSM program documentation accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all PSM/RMP safety and health requirements, program audits and inspections, assist with incident investigations, and assist with completion of required reports including OSHA and RMP reporting and forms.
