Job Description

As a Process Engineer in Disney (Parks, Experiences, and Products) Worldwide Safety Assurance, you will facilitate and support the preparation, commissioning and delivery of the processes, procedures and documentation for new and/or refurbished attractions, shows, and transportation systems at Walt Disney World to ensure sustainable safe experiences and environments for our Guest and Cast. You'll also assure adherence to applicable industry standards, codes, regulations and internal Disney standards. This position is based in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and development of processes and procedures for maintenance, operations and others, verifying the procedures adequately mitigate the hazards and risks that have been identified.

• Determine and/or review the content, frequency and priority of inspections and critical equipment checks for parts, assemblies and systems based on the engineering design, calculations, loads, stresses, wear and redundancies, potential risks and likelihoods in keeping with applicable industry standards and regulations.

• Determine when processes or procedures require redundant verification.

• Establish and follow a framework for identifying and recording the completion of all necessary documentation, including drawings, manuals, and procedures, training, and certifications to permit and ensure the safe use of the system by cast members and guests.

• Survey and review the consistency, accuracy and completeness of documents, procedures, and training while in actual performance and use, noting and communicating any discrepancies for corrective purposes.

• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with Project Teams, Operations, Engineering, Engineering Services, Safety, and regulators.

• Prioritize, balance, and manage multiple projects.

Basic Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience in Engineering, showing increasing levels of responsibility.

• Experience with design, installation and commissioning of complex systems that meet regulatory and industrial standards.

• Communicate in broad technical and non-technical terms.

• Knowledge of Maximo, EDMS, AutoCAD.

• Work after hours and off-shift hours as needed.

• Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer registration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the amusement park industry

• Experience with Quality Engineering.

• Familiarity with industry regulatory, compliance standards and processes.

• Florida Professional Engineer's License.

Required Education

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Design, or Materials Science.
