Job Description

Job Accountabilities

•    Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
•    Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes in plant by loading, scheduling, and releasing production orders to manufacturing.
•    Coordinate with purchasing department with the procurement of all required raw materials, assembly components, and any outside processes required to facilitate the timely manufacture of orders released to the shop.
•    Coordinate with production team leaders, supervisors, and Plant Superintendent to support requirements and priority customer orders.
•    Collaborate with production and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
•    Collaborate with vendors to determine product specifications and quality standards.
•    Ensure production orders are loaded with alignment to customer quotation provided from the Business Unit Managers and Customer Service representative.
•    Interact with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, productions schedules, and other considerations to facilitate productions processes.
•    Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
•    Utilize quality tools (i.e.: continuous improvement, corrective actions, Six Sigma) to improve the overall product. 
•    Assist with the design layout of equipment and workforce for maximum efficiency.

The basic Job description is as described above. The following items would be additional expectations that would support the improvement of the organization:

•    Support other office functions by documenting roles (develop SOP’s) purchasing, customer service, quoting, and production engineering as they apply and serve as back-up role in their absence. 
•    Support organization in the documentation of processes with an eye on certification standards as a baseline.

Job Requirements

  • Requires- 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial/operations management, or other general engineering/industrial degree with technical problem solving abilities.
  • Experience with the manufacture of, and related manufacturing processes relating to the efficient manufacture of precision tool & Die Components.
  • Experience with quality tools such as six sigma, lean manufacturing, statistical process control, etc. preferred.
  • Experience working in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Experience reading, creating, and editing technical documents such standard operating procedures (SOPs) required
