Job Description
Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Responsible for day-to-day production, maintenance, and engineering support and troubleshooting to produce products of sufficient quality and quantity to meet the projected needs of customers.
- Represent blending department at daily Tier meeting to communicate schedule, discuss resource needs, and coordinate maintenance tasks.
- Act as Gatekeeper for maintenance requests for blending.
- Keep historical data, including tracking, analyzing and monitoring key efficiencies and parameters.
- Respond to process deviations as reflected in KPI reports and process trends, assisting operations teams in troubleshooting process deviations.
- Develop new operating techniques and recommend capital expenditures to maintain or improve business efficiencies, facility life and quality. Utilize MOC process for all equipment changes. Responsible for contract management for anyone working on blending projects.
- Assist in the training and coaching of operations personnel in both process design and operational techniques established to maintain unit business objectives and to provide organizational strength and individual growth within the organization.
- Monitor process conditions and operational activities and proposes corrective action as needed to ensure operation of the process in a cost effective and efficient manner.
- Research customer complaints and product nonconformances, conduct RCA’s, and implement effective corrective actions in response
- Maintain documentation necessary to train employees and operate equipment safety and efficiently, including work instructions and batch sheets. Ensure that product differences are taken into account when creating documents.
- Conduct validation studies for any changes that could impact process quality.
- Ensure department has all material required for operation, including operational supplies, kitted materials, and maintenance items.
- Reviewing routers for any changes in the blending department. This includes batch sheet selection/creation, raw material review, and updating documentation for any new products in blending.
- Close out blend work orders in SAP, including end of month. Information must be accurate and entered timely. Coordinate with Blend Leads to accomplish.
- Read, understand, and execute the instructions of the Blend Value Stream Manager.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent in education and experience.
- Knowledge/experience in using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and/or other software tools
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required, food manufacturing experience preferred
