Ingredion is hiring an experienced Engineer in our Process Technology Group responsible for supporting process research and commercialization of technologies that support Ingredion’s sustainability agenda. The position will be leading or supporting projects focused on GHG emissions, water intensity and wastewater COD reduction, aligned with 2030 corporate targets
Core responsibilities:
- Performing lab and pilot plant experiments to investigate new, sustainable technologies with low capital intensity within specialized manufacturing processes in the food & beverage industry
- Scanning open literature for emerging technologies related to the field
- Collaborating effectively with manufacturing personnel and cross-functional teams to commercialize new processes, as well as troubleshoot and optimize existing processes
- Researching state-of-the-art digital manufacturing process technologies relevant to our needs
- Preparing and maintaining updated task level project plans. Actively participating in project team meetings, and providing status updates including project plans and milestones
- Writing reports and effectively communicating results to the project team and stakeholders
- Analyzing production data to identify root cause for process failure
- Operating laboratory equipment safely and with little direct supervision to support project needs
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Following guidelines set-up for good housekeeping, GMPs, and safety

Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor/Master of Science with 7+ years relevant experience or PhD with 0-2 years relevant experience in Biochemical/Bioprocessing or Food Engineering
- Experience in process intensification approaches towards process development and design such as membrane reactions/separations, modular processing, dewatering, and drying, etc, and technoeconomic modeling of such processes is highly desired
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Flexibility to handle and manage both long-term development projects and short-term troubleshooting needs
- Critical analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong computer and communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to constructively interact with colleagues from a wide variety of roles within the company
- Willingness for overnight travel (25-30%)
